In the mornings you can look forward to an abundant traditional German breakfast, with homemade jams, sausage, cheese, bread rolls, etc, etc.
Well refreshed, you can begin your Entdeckungsreise, or “journey of discovery” of the Nahe valley.
Our hotel is the starting point for many interesting walks and excursions through the surrounding area.
In Bad Sobernhem you can follow in the “footsteps of the Lehmpastors Felke” on a special “barefoot walk” (or Barfusspfad), visit the “open-air museum” (or Freilichtmuseum), or possibly visit the nearby ruins (or Klosterruine Disibodenberg).
Or you could spoil yourself, and enjoy a wonderful day in the Glan valley on a very “special train”, the Draisinen (Draisinentour durch das Glantal!).
Alternatively, simply travel along the Edelsteinstrasse and allow yourself to be bewitched by the romantic valleys which stretch off from either side of the Nahe valley, visiting the many historical places of interest.
If you feel more enegetic, the Soonwald and Hunsruck are not far away to entice you for long walks on the “old pathway of the Celts” ( or Kelten).

Or of course, you could just spend the day comfortably at Badischer Hof, relaxing and enjoying fine wines with the occasional light snack.
At Badischer Hof you can find all about viniculture and fine Nahe wines, arrange with the Vintner a wine tasting or a visit to the wine cellar
Dinner orders can be made in advance; and for groups we offer a special evening menu: e.g. steaks from the grill, chicken roasted over a vinewood fire, or a traditional farmer’s platter.

Badischer Hof is pleased to help you organise your outings with maps, brochures and ideas for places to visit in the area. Arrangement can be made to take you to a start point for a visit or a walk. Then you can either make your own way back, or arrangements can be made to collect you from another place and bring you back to Badischer Hof. It is also possible to arrange transfers for parties of walkers.

At the beginning of the 2005 season (1st April), we have extended our room capacity through the new Gastehaus am Schlossberg. This is situated approximately 1km from Badisher Hof, in the vineyards above Martinstein. The guesthouse is reached from Badischen Hof by walking along a scenic route through the vineyard with panoramic views across the Nahetal.

Should it be too late in the evening, we are pleased to help with the transfer using the hotel’s mini-bus. In the mornings the short walk with the promise of an excellent breakfast, is a healthy way to start the day.
